Aloneness is sometimes stronger than company. Loneliness is sometimes weaker than aloneness! Both are better than being extinct!

could mean "أنقرض" or "أنطفىء". I'll leaf it to your taste.
Tantalize:
Only a thin line separates the two states. Part of happiness is knowing the deference.

You reminded me of the song Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi where in 1 of the lines he says: Tonight I won't be alone but you know that don't mean I'm not lonely! So I guess it is worse when you are not alone but you feel lonely!
